Project Goal
To conduct a thorough investigation leading to the commercialization of wood derived Bio-Char as performance enhancing additives for the manufacture of automotive products.
Making Green the New Black
The Woodbridge Group has taken a deliberate initiative to replace, in part or whole, fossil-based pigment with an innovative green alternative derived from Ontario Forest biomass.
In the first phase of this project, Woodbridge has successfully replaced petroleum-based pigment with an alternative made from forest biomass, to colour foam black and improve the finished trim appearance of automotive seating.
Woodbridge is also aiming to integrate this environmentally sustainable material into the chemical formulations used to improve certain properties of automotive seat cushioning products.
“We are proud to announce this new technology, which improves the appearance and performance of our automotive seating foams with a unique, environmentally sustainable and cost-effective material.”
