Project goal
This project aims to determine the feasibility of biocarbon injection within integrated steelmaking and design a pilot injection system suitable for industrial trials. Biocarbon requirements to meet the demands of industrial application will also be developed along with identification of potential biomass sources and associated logistics for industrial scale supply.
MS#1 & MS#2 Update
A short list of possible biocarbon supply options have been developed based on supplier location, ability to meet required trial volumes and ability to meet targeted product specifications. Work also began on equipment design for the industrial trial, notably on establishing the design requirements for the injection lance and material handling requirements for the delivered biocarbon.
